Characteristics of brush material
The planter brush adopts a wooden or plastic brush body, and the bristles are machine nailed into the brush body. The bristle brush body is supplied together with a through shaft or a tube with an end neck. The shell shaped brush block can also be fixed to the tubular brush body, which makes it easy to replace the brush without removing the shaft.
The special brush roller using plastic brush wire is dedicated to shot blasting cleaning equipment for steel beams and profiles. The brush roller is used to clean the shot blasting material on the surface of processed parts. The brush roller consists of 2-4 brush blocks fixed on the drive shaft. When the brush threads are worn out, the brush body can be refilled with brush threads and then reused.
For hygiene reasons, such as in the food industry, it is sometimes necessary to seal and punch holes to avoid bacterial penetration. In these application environments, all punched holes are sealed with casting resin to obtain a uniform surface, and the sealing also protects the brush material.
Plant hair brushes can be manufactured in various lengths, appearances, and diameters using different brush wire materials. The planter brush adopts wood or plastic brush body, and if the customer needs it, steel shaft can be provided. Due to the infinite possibilities of brush construction, we provide customized services for bristle brushes for each application. Advanced production facilities enable us to produce various sizes and bristles of plant-based brushes, meeting all application needs.
The new type of industrial brush, which uses the brush wire embedded in galvanized iron or stainless steel bars, and is wound into a spring shape by machine to maintain good density by spot welding on the circular shaft, has a higher density and is not easy to shed hair. It is a high-end product in the brush industry!
Material for bristles and bristles
1. PBT wire has better elasticity than nylon brush wire, but its wear resistance is not as good as 610. PBT has softer performance and is most suitable for cleaning and cleaning fine components, such as automotive surface cleaning; Brushing wire
2. Nylon 610 (PA66, PA6) bristles have good wear resistance, high temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance, good elasticity, and are suitable for brush components in household dust removal and cleaning, such as vacuum cleaners, brush rollers, brush platforms, etc;
3. Nylon 612 or nylon 1010 has the best elasticity and the highest cost, but its wear resistance is not as good as 610. Its appearance is excellent, and its impact resistance and aging resistance are also very good. It is most suitable for dust-proof parts such as industrial equipment and doors and windows; Generally, flame retardant and anti-static functions are also required.
4. Polypropylene (PP) brush wire has characteristics such as acid and alkali resistance, but its elasticity is not very good, and it is easy to deform and difficult to recover after long-term work. Therefore, it is suitable for industrial dust removal and cleaning of rough components, such as dust removal in mining docks, sweeping brushes for sanitation vehicles, and so on;
5. PE wire is one of the softer types of brush wires and is often used for car cleaning brushes. With the addition of a fuzzing process, it facilitates the protection of car paint surfaces;
6. Pig bristles are commonly used for polishing bath brushes or valuable objects, such as goldsmiths, gemstones, pianos, and other surface treatments. They are also suitable for polishing and grinding hard alloys;
7. Horse hair is softer than pig bristles and easier to remove floating ash. It is often used in high-end household cleaning products or suitable for industrial purposes such as removing floating ash;
8. Metal wires such as steel wire and copper wire are generally used for deburring and other treatments on metal surfaces, and their wear resistance is good;
9. Abrasive nylon wire (divided into silicon carbide abrasive wire, aluminum oxide abrasive wire, diamond abrasive wire) has good wear resistance and acid and alkali resistance, and is commonly used in surface treatment of PCBs, acid pickling lines of galvanized sheets, as well as metal processing, polishing and deburring;
10. Sisal bristles have good toughness, high temperature resistance, and oil absorption. They are commonly used for pot brushes, high temperature, oil removal, and other purposes.
Brush classification
Industrial brush
The application scope of industrial brushes covers almost all industries, and their main uses are cleaning, dust removal, polishing, etc. in industrial production processes. According to the manufacturing process, it can be basically divided into five categories: planting brush, strip brush, spring brush, Fried Dough Twists brush, injection brush, etc. According to usage categories, it can be divided into brush rollers, drum brushes, brush wheels, disc brushes, strip brushes, sheet brushes, irregular brushes, etc. According to the material of the brush, it can be divided into nylon brush, steel wire brush, copper wire brush, plastic brush, horse hair brush, bristle brush, sisal brush, abrasive brush, cotton thread brush, etc. Industrial brush
Industrial brush products include: brush roller, drum brush, steel wire brush, strip brush, belt brush, disc brush, spring brush, nylon brush, rubber roller, sponge suction roller, sanitation vehicle sweeping brush, fireplace chimney brush, bottle washing brush pipeline brush, glass cleaning machine brush roller, fruit and vegetable cleaning machine brush roller, textile printing and dyeing industry brush, ceramic glaze brush, paper printing equipment rubber roller, anti-static brush, metal polishing and grinding brush, metal acid washing brush roller, automatic shoe cleaning machine brush wheel, and other special brushes. Industrial brushes have the highest demand for brush rollers
Civil brush
Types of civilian brushes: Civilian brushes refer to the brushes used in people's daily life and homework, such as toothbrushes, paint brushes, home cleaning brushes, makeup brushes, and various types of brushes used for cleaning and removing sharp edges
Application scope
The main application scope of industrial brushes is in four aspects: dust prevention, polishing, cleaning, and grinding
1. The main purpose of dust removal brushes and dust-proof brushes is to install them at the inlet and outlet of industrial equipment, assembly lines, doors and windows, etc., to prevent dust from penetrating through these gaps and contaminating equipment and products. Therefore, the requirement for brush threads is to have high elasticity, good surface lubrication, and in special occasions, it is best to have flame retardancy, wear resistance, and anti-static functions. For example, escalator safety brushes belong to the category of dust-proof brushes, but their requirements are higher.
2. Polishing brushes are mainly used to remove burrs and fine polish the surface of the object being polished. Therefore, the type and characteristics of the brush wire should be determined according to different requirements. If it is a steel plate with strong hardness that needs surface electroplating polishing, the most ideal brush wire should be bronze wire. If it is a general metal material that needs surface rust and deburring treatment, a steel wire with better hardness should be used;
3. The cleaning brush is the most commonly used industrial roller brush, which is generally used for deep processing of agricultural and sideline products, fruit and vegetable cleaning, and general cleaning and dust removal in industry. The requirements for the brush wire are good wear resistance, high elasticity, corrosion and aging resistance, and it is not easy to deform during long-term operation. If the brush wire performance is poor, when the object is placed in a certain position for a long time, it will cause grooves in the brush roller, damage the function of the roller brush, and even cause the entire brush roller to be scrapped;
4. Grinding brushes are rarely used. Generally, industrial grinding is done directly with grinding tools such as grinding wheels, which are not within the scope of industrial brushes. However, for textile bristling treatment, abrasive wire brushes containing silicon carbide should be used. The mesh size (density) of silicon carbide in the abrasive wire should be adjusted appropriately with the strength of the fabric being ground and the desired grinding effect.
Plant hair brushes are used for cleaning, coating, transportation, degreasing, film pressing, dust removal, powder spreading, cleaning, and other applications. We can customize plant-based brushes with various sizes and wire materials to meet your application needs.
Analysis of two commonly used materials
There are various types of brush materials, and the earliest ones used were natural wool. The so-called natural wool refers to materials such as pig bristles and wool that are directly collected and used instead of artificially synthesized. And many materials such as pig hair, wool, horse hair, etc. also have different properties, which need to be selected according to the customer's usage environment.
1、 Natural wool material
1. Pighair
A pig's mane is taken from a pig's body. Generally speaking, a pig can only pluck hair once in its lifetime. Pig hair can be used to make various brushes, the most common of which is the pig hair paint brush. The shape of a pig's mane is similar to that of human hair, from the base to the end, it is thick to thin, which makes the pig's mane elastic; In addition, there will be slight forks at the end of each hair; The common color of a pig's mane is brown (white) or black. Pig bristles have excellent durability and water resistance, as well as anti-static, high-temperature, and acid-base resistance.
2. Wool
Wool is relatively soft and lacks elasticity. After being made into a wool brush, it can be used to apply paint without leaving any brush marks. In addition to making paint brushes, wool is often used on short and soft bristles, such as makeup brushes.
3. Horsehair
The softness of horse hair is between that of a pig's mane and wool, and horsetail hair is slightly harder than pig's mane hair; Horse hair has good toughness and wear resistance, but is not resistant to acid or alkali. When made into brushes, they are often used in industries such as polishing, cleaning, and dust removal; A brush made of horse hair can withstand high temperatures of around 190 degrees Celsius.
4. White brown
White brown is a wool material processed from the fibers of agave stems and leaves, mainly produced in Mexico, so it is commonly referred to as "Mexican white brown" in the industry; White brown has good acid and alkali resistance; Due to its nature as a plant fiber, it has good water absorption properties; White brown can reach a temperature of around 140 degrees Celsius, making it a suitable brush for fine polishing operations in leather manufacturing.
In addition, there is also sisal, which is one of the natural materials used to process brushes. Its performance is similar to that of white brown, and it is often used to process into polishing brushes. The finished product is commonly known as "sisal strips".
2、 Artificial fibers
Artificial fiber filaments, including plastic filaments such as nylon (PA), PP, PBT, PET, PVC, etc., are widely used in current brush processing due to their low production cost, diverse colors, stable quality, and unlimited length. Especially in industrial brushes, the usage of these artificial fiber filaments greatly exceeds that of natural wool.
Among the above-mentioned artificial materials, nylon (PA) is the most widely used and classified. Due to differences in characteristics, nylon filament can be divided into the following types:
Nylon 6 (PA6): Nylon 6 is the most affordable in the nylon family, but despite this, it still has good recovery, temperature resistance, and wear resistance. This wool material is therefore widely used in various brush products and is the most common wool material on various brushes on the market.
Nylon 66 (PA66): Compared with nylon 6, nylon 66 has slightly better hardness, recovery, and wear resistance in the same wire diameter, with a temperature resistance of up to 150 degrees Celsius.
Nylon 612 (PA612): Nylon 612 is a relatively high-quality nylon filament with low water absorption, better recovery and wear resistance than nylon 66. In addition, nylon 612 has characteristics such as anti mold and antibacterial properties, and its brush wheels, brush strips, etc. are often used in food, medical, and electronics related industries.
Abrasive nylon: Wear resistant nylon is a synthetic wire made by adding silicon carbide (SIC) or aluminum oxide (AO) abrasive particles to nylon 6 or nylon 612 as brush wire raw materials. It is also known as abrasive wire or grinding wire in the industry. The brush products made from it have wear resistance characteristics, and there are multiple types according to the wire diameter and mesh size.
The above are common types of nylon, and in addition, the following are other widely used artificial brush filaments.
PP: The biggest feature of PP is that its density is less than 1. When testing the raw material, several of them can be placed in water. If they float on the water surface, they can be used
Based on preliminary judgment, it is determined to be made of PP material; The cross-section of PP wool is elliptical; In addition, PP has poor elasticity and is difficult to restore to its original state after multiple bends; Can withstand heat up to 120 degrees Celsius.
PET: The durability and high temperature resistance of PET are similar to those of nylon; In addition, PET also has good resistance to acid and alkali, alcohol, gasoline, benzene, and most cleaning solvents, and has considerable antibacterial properties, making it less prone to mold.
PBT: PBT wool has advantages such as acid and alkali resistance, oil resistance, and solvent resistance, but it is easy to hydrolyze at high temperatures.
PVC: PVC has low cost, short service life, and poor wear resistance, so industrial brushes rarely use PVC as the raw material to avoid frequent replacement of brushes. PVC brush wire can be made into a front end fork, known as "flowering wire" in the industry, commonly used for household cleaning brushes such as brooms.
Cleaning precautions
1. Never reverse hair cleaning.
2. After cleaning, gently press with a tissue paper or cotton pad with your fingers to let the water out, but remember not to twist the bristles, otherwise it will damage the bristles and make the structure of the bristles loose, leading to hair loss.
3. After cleaning, hang the brush and let the bristles face down to dry.
4. It should be air dried naturally and cannot be dried with a hair dryer, let alone dried in the sun, otherwise it may damage the brush material.
